It is a Fitness class, based on Exercising and Dance, where pole is used as a prop.
Is Pole Fitness a Striptease/Are Pole Dancers Strippers?
Very often Pole Dance is associated with Striptease, time and again misunderstood and mistreated. That is a common misconception.
Perhaps, we should clarify something here.
There is POLE SPORTS – which like any other professional sports involves athletes in training and participation in championships and competitions, etc.
There is POLE DANCE – which like any other dance form consists of artistic expression and performance. It's a very skillful and disciplinary Art, like Ballet, etc.
There is POLE FITNESS – which like any other workout makes you sweat and exercise to get fit.
There is STRIPTEASE/TABLE DANCE/LAP DANCE/EXOTIC DANCE – it involves an erotic dance in which the performer gradually undresses, either partly or completely, in a seductive and sexually suggestive manner. This has NOTHING to do with the three mentioned above.
Pole Fitness, Pole Dance, and Pole Sports are absolutely Decent and Respectable activities, yet very Graceful and Feminine for women, and Powerful and Masculine for men.
They require a lot of practice and discipline, and involve dance, acrobatics, and gymnastics. Pole Fitness is a legitimate form of exercise and an accepted fitness technique. It is rapidly becoming very popular around the globe among ordinary men and women of all ages and all fitness levels. Pole Fitness has a long history.
In China it has been known since the 12th century. Chinese poles are vertical poles on which circus performers climb, slide down and hold poses. The poles are generally between 3 and 9 metres (10 and 30 ft) in height and approximately 2 to 3 inches (5 to 8 cm) in diameter. requires a very strong upper body and enormous core strength.

In India Mallakhamb (pole gymnastics) is a traditional sports in which a gymnast performs feats and poses in concert with a vertical wooden pole or rope.
The earliest recorded references to Mallakhamb is found in 1135AD.

Ayumi grew up in Tokyo, Japan. Her performing carrier started as a stage actress in 2001. She has been trained in Street dance, Jazz, Contemporary, Belly dance, meanwhile, looking for a new form of self expression. After moving to London, UK Ayumi discovered Pole Dance and fell in love with it. After winning some UK national championships, Ayumi became an international Pole Dance performer. She continues her training in the UK and internationally, alongside performing and competing.
The good news is: Ayumi LaNoire will generously share her knowledge and skills at the Pole Fitness class! Her teaching style is result focused and creative, very friendly and student oriented. She will help you to get to fitness level you want.
Pole Class Levels
Pole Fitness - Beginners Level. It's an exercise based class with simple Pole Dance elements aimed to improve your fitness, flexibility, tone up and prepare your body for Pole Dance. But most important, on this level you will build up Core Strength of your muscles, joints, and bones to prevent you from injuries.
Pole Dance - Intermediate Level. Is aimed to increase your basic strength and flexibility from previous level. There will be more Pole Dance moves, spins, and tricks which will also get you on another level of fitness.
Pole Sports - Advanced Level. This is a hardcore workout for experienced Pole Athletes. There will be A LOT of exercising and A LOT of Pole Dancing.
What to wear for the class?
Wear something comfortable: slim fit top, leggings or shorts, trainers. No high heel shoes, please!
To have bottle of still water (not a fizzy drink) is always a good idea. We don't want you dehydrate during the intense class.
